We’re throwing a party for our neighborhood!
This coming Sunday afternoon we are hosting our Christmas Fest party that is geared heavily to children and their families. Let me make sure that we all understand why this event is so important to us. For many of us if you don’t have kids you may think that this is not for you. This is far from the truth.
As we have discovered in recent years it is more and more difficult to open the doors of a church and have the community think that the church has anything of value to offer. Of course as believers we know how eternally important the Gospel is, but much of our community does not. By offering this party we are essentially putting the Gospel on display at a time of year when the secular community looks for something to attend that brings a little “holiday” (we all know it’s Christmas!) cheer. That’s what Christmas Fest is designed to do…
Have fun! Kids will be making crafts including building their own Nativity scene and learning this story.
We will have hayrides and lots of Christmas singing
We will have a ‘snowball fight’ under the tent (a huge hit last year)
There will be miniature ponies that are about the cutest things you’ve ever seen! Kids will have photo opportunities with a pony.
Hot Dogs… Hot Chocolate…
And — meeting and greeting people as they mingle.
Of course it is all free
As a part of LifeWay Church, I am asking all of us to get involved somehow. If you have kids or grandchildren, bring them and help them enjoy the show! If you don’t have kids, I ask you to find a job! Show up a little early and if you don’t have a job already you will likely get assigned one.
Invite neighbors and friends who have children or grandchildren.
At minimum, let’s all open the doors wide and meet our neighbors.
Repost on your Facebook page and other social media our church flyer about this event.
See you at Christmas Fest this Sunday afternoon.
