Hello, KidVenture kids and parents!
I hope you are all enjoying time at home together. Since we aren’t getting together for KidVenture, here are a few things you can check out during the week to keep digging into the Bible, and a few resources you may find helpful.
THIS WEEK IN KIDVENTURE
This week, we will check out Luke 15. In this chapter Jesus tells three parables. A parable is a story that teaches us something about God.
Here is a printable reading plan for the week, with questions and a verse of the week to help us dig into Luke 15: KidVenture 3.24.20
I’m also giving you a printable prayer reminder: My Weekly Prayer Reminders2
One of the best ways to stay connected to God and to each other is to pray for one another. Our weekly prayer reminder gives you and your kids reminders of people to be praying for, and gives them a place to record who they prayed for and what they prayed about. When we are able to come back to KidVenture, your kids can get a KidVenture buck for each day of each weekly prayer reminder they fill out.
BIBLE RESOURCES
RightNow Media: What’s in the Bible?
Right Now Media is a video streaming service that has lots of cool stuff for grown-ups and kids. One of my favorite series they have on Right Now Media is called “What’s In The Bible?” It is made by the some of the same folks that came up with the original Veggie Tales, including Phil Vischer. This series gives an overview of the entire Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. The different characters teach important biblical concepts and help us see the big picture of the Bible in a way that is fun and accessible for all ages, particularly mid to older elementary.
YouVersion — A Bible App for Kids
This free app that features stories from the Old and New Testaments. The stories are presented in storybook style; kids can listen to the story, or they can read the story. There are interactive elements to the illustrated stories, and activities to reinforce the story for kids. This app is especially good for younger elementary kids.
FOR PARENTS
Talking with kids about COVID-19
It can be difficult to talk with kids about serious issues. But the Parent Cue has developed several age-specific guides for parents of kids from preschool to high school, to help them talk in age-appropriate ways about crisis situations and help kids remember that God is still in control. Check out the Parent Cue guides here.
I’m praying for you all this week!
