Our Vision
At LifeWay Church, we want to see the world restored by God’s grace lived out by his people.
Our Mission
At LifeWay Church, we exist to help real people find real life in Jesus Christ through real relationships with his Word and his people.
Our Culture / Core Values
REAL PRIORITIES.
We will reflect God’s priority of reaching the lost and making disciples.
We will:
- Center everything we do on the person of Jesus Christ and the good news of his life, death, and resurrection, as revealed in the Bible.
- Build disciples up “inside the walls” with a view to sending them “outside the walls.”
- Continually work toward investing our time, energy, and resources to those who do not yet know Christ, especially those without access to the gospel.
We will not:
- Become an organization that exists for our own benefit.
- Become complacent in caring only for ourselves and not prioritizing God’s love for the lost.
Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 2:17; Luke 15:1-31; Acts 1:8
REAL LIFE.
We will equip people to live out the gospel in their everyday lives.
We will:
- Embrace sharing and living out the gospel in our day-to-day activities and relationships.
- Embrace prayer, scripture, and service in our everyday habits as disciples who make disciples.
- Train and encourage one another to apply the gospel to real struggles and situations.
We will not:
- Treat weekly gatherings as the goal and end of our Christian life or neglect meeting together.
- Separate our Christian life and service from our work, play, learning, or resting.
Deuteronomy 6:4-9; 1 Corinthians 14:26; Colossians 3:16
Real Ownership.
We will live as a church family of saved, gifted, and called people unified around one Lord and one mission.
We will:
- Equip every disciple, regardless of age, spiritual maturity, or ability, to be a servant-missionary and disciple-maker.
- Participate, give what we have, and take up our responsibilities as individuals and a community.
- Strive for gift-based, shared leadership that is submitted to one another.
We will not:
- Leave the work and ministry of the church to a few, select professionals.
- Leave any follower of Jesus out of the work of the church.
Ephesians 4:3-7, 11-16; 5:21; Colossians 3:23-24
REAL ENGAGEMENT.
We will engage deeply in the complexity of God’s Word and life around us.
We will:
- Depend on the power, wisdom, and leading of God through his Word and the Holy Spirit to guide our engagement.
- Engage deeply in God’s Word, applying its truths and principles to the complex issues and situations of today.
- Engage deeply in the sin and struggle of our own lives and those around us. We can be real about our sin because we have a real Savior.
- Engage in actions that demonstrate the gospel, and partner with other like-minded churches and organizations in order to engage our community and world more effectively.
We will not:
- Shy away from difficult or complex topics, people, or scriptures.
- Allow ourselves to be consumed or distracted by non-essential issues.
- Silo ourselves away from the broader work that is being done by God’s people.
Psalm 119:130, 1 Corinthians 2:2-6; Philippians 2:5-8; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; James 1:22
REAL RELATIONSHIPS.
We will develop real, transformative relationships.
We will:
- Be authentic in our relationships with God, with others in the church family, and with those who do not yet know Jesus.
- Strive to help every person be known, valued, and cared for as we help them understand their own story and redemptive relationship with God.
- Approach all situations with an attitude of love and reconciliation.
We will not:
- Shy away from the hard work and complexity of authentic relationships.
- Attack, pretend, ignore, gossip, or do other actions that promote shallow relationships or undermine authentic love for one another.
