Come join us for a Saturday work party at Gold Garden, the community garden site at LifeWay. Bella’s Gold Garden is ending its first year. We will be having a work party to clean out existing beds and weed the areas around the beds. If you can join us, please let us know you’re planning to help by filling out the form below!
If you’d like to be a regular volunteer at Gold Garden, you can let us know that, too! Our hope for our second season (next spring) is to have more LifeWay, Twin Lakes and neighborhood families involved in the garden. We will be planning this winter for next spring, then making a rotation list for maintaining the garden throughout the summer. If you have an interest in joining us next spring, use the form below to get on our list.
LIFEWAY’S PARTNERSHIP WITH GOLD GARDEN
What is Bella’s Gold Garden? Bella BeSerra is a Girl Scout working on her gold project. Her project was to have a community garden. LifeWay partnered with her by giving the space needed for the garden and access to water. Bella and her family built the boxes and solicited donations from the community for supplies, seeds and plants. This first year, the garden was maintained by the BeSerra family and a couple of volunteers from LifeWay. We were pleased to see the harvest yield many different vegetables. The vegetables were available Fridays from noon – 4:00 pm. Anyone in the community, including our church family, was welcome to take the harvest.
