This Sunday morning, November 20, we are dedicating our normal 10 a.m. service time to giving thanks: to one another, for our daily provision and, most of all, to God! There will lots of wonderful musical worship, but each of us is also to play an important part in this service.
How to prepare for Thanksgiving worship
- Bring a Bible verse that helps you express your thanks to the Almighty. I may ask you to stand and share a small part of that verse. Do a little homework and come with a verse to express your praise to God.
For example…
Psalm 106:1
Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.
- Written notes of Thanksgiving: We will provide thank-you cards and take the time in our worship for you to write notes of thanksgiving, including messages to our global partners as well as a special note to the Almighty.
- Music: Be ready to sing lots of great praise music that honors God with our voices!
- Personal prayer time before you arrive: Come with a grateful heart! Before you even arrive on Sunday morning, spend a few minutes in private prayer and thankfulness to God for all he has done and all he is.
- Communion: We will take communion together, a communal remembrance ordinance that ultimately helps us remember that Jesus Christ gave it all so that we can gain it all! Get your hearts ready.
This Sunday morning service will be family-style! Kids will be with the rest of the church family together, with no separate kids class.
See you Sunday morning at 10 a.m. for this special Thanksgiving worship.
